A Snapshot of Your Day In your role as General Ledger, Closing and Reporting Team Lead:
You will lead a team of domain experts, which includes, managing of accounting issues, analysis of errors, initiation of any necessary corrections and leading process improvement activities or initiatives, if needed with support from the General Ledger, Closing and Reporting Function Lead.You will supervise daily General Ledger, Closing and Reporting transactions and month-end-closing activities and ensuring they are recorded in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP quality standards or any other relevant regulations and guidelines.You will be expected to collaborate and build strong partnerships with internal and external customers such as regional accounting hubs, local business teams, and other partners within Siemens Energy's local and global communities.Listen actively and continuously focused on customer requests, leading sophisticated and uncertain operational issues, while critically moving forward in taking ownership of decisions, together with the General Ledger, Closing and Reporting Function Lead.Share standard methodologies with all relevant customers. As a detail oriented and people focused General Ledger, Closing and Reporting Team Lead, through active commitment and involvement, you will be responsible for coordinating people and activities, such as:
In your role as Team Lead - General Ledger and Closing you will be responsible for the periodic financial statements in your area of responsibility (monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements) in accordance with IFRS, considering internal guidelines in various and complex IT systems, for example:
G/L accounts reconciliationSupport of reporting sales taxOpening balance (Carry forward)Support of Hubs and CompaniesSupervising business related provisions & accruals, deferred incomeEmployee-related topicsInventory ValuationPosting of journal entriesValuation / supervising GL accountsPeriod end closing activities.Reporting IFRS in ESPRIT & Adstar for SC, BU & SF, Actual, FC & ComparabilityEnsuring stability in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, actively providing support to General Ledger, Closing and Reporting team members as a relevant specialist and leader.You assist with ad-hoc duties required by management to meet the needs of the business, and coordinate solutions with your team if required.Working independently and proactively supporting the General Ledger, Closing and Reporting team members, also providing feedback for more complex issues to the Function Lead.You will be responsible for internal controls in General Ledger, Closing and Reporting accounting, also participating in internal and external audits by providing timely and qualitative information and resolve queries from the auditors (where applicable for the assigned countries/legal entities).You own the implementation and continuous update of DTP (Desktop Procedure) documentation for existing and creation of DTPs new processes/variances.You are actively involved in leading, proposing and coordinating people and processes in continuous improvement initiatives as part of finance transformation projects. You will support projects related to General Ledger, Closing and Reporting, Mergers and Acquisitions and ERP migration projects, among others.Supplying and engaging in standardizing and automating our workflows and General Ledger, Closing and Reporting processes and our cross-functional processes throughout the company.Coach, mentor and develop team members in accordance with career development plans. What You Bring Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting or related fieldShown experience in the field of General Ledger, Closing and Reporting Accounting & Finance OperationsMinimum 2 years of experience in Team LeadershipExtensive knowledge of accounting and IFRS is requiredVery good MS-Office skills (especially in MS-Excel)Very good understanding of business processes in SAPExperience in transitions and transformation projectsWillingness to travel for knowledge transfer, training/workshops, if neededYou are open and communicative in nature as well as fluent English skills complete your profile About the Team Accounting Services (AS) is an integral part of the global accounting ecosystem and a CFO function within Siemens Energy (SE).
