The Senior UI Engineer is responsible for designing and developing the implementation of game systems and resources, focusing on the development of user interfaces and tools for user interfaces. This role works closely with other programmers and the production team to create high-performance, robust, and sustainable systems in a game development environment.

As a Senior Software Engineer (UI) you will
Implement robust and scalable solutions for UI rendering in a game engineDevelop cutting-edge user interface backend for a proprietary ECS-driven game engineResearch the state of the art in UI development and apply that research through technical designs and implementationPerform CPU and GPU performance profiling and optimizationIdentify and highlight any potential risks during the development processSolve engineering problems by applying sound software engineering principles, design patterns, performance optimization and minimizing any potential disruption factors during the development processChampion engineering excellence at Kokku as well as with our client's development efforts
Requirements
Comfortable with a wide range of code design patterns including OOP, MVVM and MVC programmingStrong understanding of how a game engine works and of editor conceptsSolid engineering skills with a vast professional experience in gamesKnowledge of fundamental UI concepts like 2D layout, animation, and text renderingTwo or more shipped gamesMultiplatform development experienceExcellent programming skills in modern C++Solid CPU and GPU debugging and optimization experienceSolid understanding of graphics pipelines and rendering techniquesFamiliarity with several UI frameworks (game, web, application, etc.)Familiarity with shaders, particle systems, and 3D renderingExperience with proprietary game engines or solid experience with Unreal sourceSolid attention to organization and detail with strong analytical skillsSolid technical insightGood communication skills with the ability to write and verbalize conceptual thoughtsStrong sense of accountability to consistently meet and exceed performance expectationsHigh emotional intelligence to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics effectively Proactive agent with a problem solving and critical thinking mindsetSolid debugging and optimisation skills
