Senior Database Reliability Engineer

Empowering artists and content creators, we provide a comprehensive set of tools and features specifically designed to support their creative endeavors.ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations, ensuring databases are running smoothlyPerform routine maintenance tasks to optimize database performanceImplement and execute regular backup strategies to safeguard critical dataInvestigate and resolve database-related issues promptlyCollaborate with cross-functional teams to address and troubleshoot system anomaliesMonitor and optimize database queries for enhanced performance.Analyze and fine-tune SQL queries to improve efficiency and responsivenessParticipate in a bi-weekly on-call rotation schedule to address any database-related issues outside regular working hoursProvide 24/7 on-call support, ensuring rapid response and resolution in case of critical incidentsQualifications6+ years of experience as a Database Reliability Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer / Software EngineerExperience managing high-scale MySQL deployments running in the cloud (preferred AWS running on EC2)Hands-on experience with Python, Ansible, and bash scriptingFamiliarity with Percona MySQL tooling (Orchestrator, XtraBackup, PMM)Familiarity with Python ORMs like SQLAlchemyExperience identifying and mitigating MySQL performance bottlenecks like long-running queries, database locking, and suboptimal query designExcellent communication skills and comfortable interacting with engineers from other teams for incident resolution and performance regression deep divesHigh engineering skills and a passion about setting the bar higherWould be a plusKnowledge or experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC), enabling the automation of provisioning and managing infrastructure resourcesFamiliarity with NoSQL databases, providing versatility in managing different types of data storage systems
