Candidates From LATAM Countries Are PreferableJob Description: The Release Manager for Caterpillar's Digital Systems has primary responsibility for defining, implementing, and executing multi-applications, services and platform release management processes. Contribute to and assist in creating a well-planned and well-delivered release plan; resulting in deployments as intended and delivered on schedule. Job Duties: Responsible for release planning; including communicating with product owners, program management, development, quality assurance/testing and operations to ensure all deployment requirements are gather and support/development teams engaged.Accountable for release documentation that includes collaborating closely with teams to ensure agreed upon release plan documentation and deployment tasks meet expectations and mitigate change risk.Assist in release deployment; managing deployment releases by validating resources, coordinating scheduled tasks, ensuring deployment validation, initiating back out plans and communicating deployment results and issues.Coordinates execution of production releases that usually include off hour release work.Review and validate release test plans are evident for release deployments.Assist in developing and maintaining release schedules for production deployments.Review all release plans for impact to CAT Digital cloud and on-prem environments.Communicate to leadership when release deployments have cause outage incidents.Validate release process documentation and business requirements are adhered to by all application/service/platform resource teams.Additional responsibilities as assigned by the CAT Digital ITSM Operations Manager. Basic Qualifications: Requires a college or university degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience.6+ or more years of experience working in technology ITSM operations.Experienced with the use of ServiceNow or similar software (i.e., Remedy), specifically Release Management and Change ManagementUnderstanding of ITIL service delivery processesPrior Release Manager experienceKnowledge of cloud hosted environments (primarily AWS), software development lifecycles and application services.People skills to deal with sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations.Ability to influence behavior, including support and development resources and/or obtain the cooperation and commitment as needed.This position should be familiar with project management methodologies as they will participate in multiple projects representing expertise for release management process.
