YMAC is run by a First Nations board of directors, representing several native title groups, each of whom have their own language, culture, traditions and protocols.
YMAC services include native title claim and future act representation; heritage services; executive office, community, and economic development assistance; land administration, and natural resource management support.

About the Role:YMAC is currently seeking a full time (75 hours per fortnight) Project Officer to join the team in either our Perth or Regional Offices on a fixed term contract of 12 months. The purpose of this position is to support YMAC's contribution to progressing the respective First Nations' communities Calls to Action arising from the Annual Yamatji on Country (Mid West, Gascoyne and Murchison) and Annual On Country Bush Meeting at Yule River (Pilbara).
This position will work with Regional Managers, the CEO, and Communications team members to engage with community stakeholders and government to facilitate action in the time between and leading up to these two annual on-Country meetings.
This role will require travel to regional centres and remote communities.  Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
Supporting communications and liaison with community organisations and PBCs, or individuals identified at the On-Country meetings to meet with government agencies.Coordinating nominated community representatives to come together for planning and action in the year between their annual meetings, to develop and implement a Plan of Action to work with government to create change.Supporting coordination of community members to travel within their region to meet with PBCs, community organisations and community members to discuss the plan of action.Support YMAC's liaison and collaboration with community members, regional alliances, PBCs and Aboriginal Corporations to collectively progress the Calls to ActionAssist and facilitate new connections to government agencies and decision-makers (inc. politicians) that encourage new networks and culturally appropriate and empowered, place-based responses to the Calls to Action.High level involvement in the planning for both annual Yamatji on Country and Yule River meetings.What YMAC OffersYMAC believes in providing a safe and supportive working environment, and the best way to do that is to ensure our employees are well-looked after.
