Job PurposeThe Offshore Instrumentation Technician (TI) on board PLSVs (Pipe-Laying Support Vessels) is responsible for maintaining, repairing and replacing the vessel's electronic systems and components. He reports to the Chief Engineer and follows the operating and maintenance procedures approved by the equipment manufacturer. The equipment under his responsibility includes, but is not limited to: Dynamic Positioning System, IAS, navigation and communication equipment, electronic and supervisory equipment in the engine room and other electronic devices.Job Description- Responsible for the Maintenance of the Dynamic Positioning System (DP), including carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure that the DP functions properly. - Operating, updating and maintaining the ship's computer network, ensuring connectivity and the functioning of the communication and navigation systems. - Communicating with crew and supervisors to inform them of issues related to the DP system. - Activity logs and accurate reports of all activities carried out, including maintenance, repairs and replacements. - Maintenance of Communication Equipment, including radios, radars and electronic navigation devices. - Actively participates in FMEA Proving trials, DP Annual Trials or any DP test; - Regulatory Standard for Working with Electricity (NR-10)You are meant for this job if:- Technician completed in electrical, electronics, control and automation, mechatronics, mechanics or related areas.- Proven experience in Maintenance of the Dynamic Positioning System (DP) , IAS, navigation and communication equipment, electronic equipment and machine room supervisors and other electronic devices. - Experience working offshore - Advanced EnglishSkillsEquipamentos OperacionaisManutencoes (preventivas e corretivas)Comunica??o Operacional - Brazil Fleet OffshoreAdditional SkillsMandatory: CBSP - Brazilian BOSIET / FOET - foreign Security Awareness Training for All Seafarers Additional Training: - T- HUET / HUET Opito - ASOG (Activity Specific Operational Guidelines) - IMCA Mandatory - Kpos Maintenance - Kchief Step 1 and 2.
