Position Main Goals: Work with the Caterpillar IT infrastructure teams to deliver new functionality for sites. This person will manage projects that design, build, deploy, the IT infrastructure using appropriate and trending technologies. This person will manage each of these projects for Network Services through the Solution Request Process (SRP) that supports the Americas and EAME regions. Primary job duties include, but are not limited to: Oversee technical resources assisting in the delivery of Network Services SRP request. Management of the plan, budget, and resource plan for SRP solution requests. Schedule and lead status meetings for each request. Support facility moves, facility closures, deploying the needed infrastructure (server/storage/network equipment) for facility expansion projects. Work with site contacts to ensure all site deployment activities are completed on time and in alignment with requested target dates. Work with Caterpillar Network Services team to align appropriate resources for assessment and design reviews. Working with site contacts to schedule needed outages, site specific testing, and GIS infrastructure testing to support deployment activities. Participate in site cutover activities as an escalation point for issues. Management of the procurement and spend authorizations for each SRP request. Escalating staffing issues / constraints to ensure adherence to project milestones. Participate in bi-weekly updates with the team to discuss status and concerns with SRP requests. What You Have - Skills and Experiences: Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges with Infrastructure Management within Manufacturing. Technology Advising: Knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for a specific technology domain. Provides information regarding application of a specific technology within one's own organization. Explains a specific technology and its application in detail. Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization. System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing plans that ensure the successful delivery of each SRP solution request. Project Management Methodology: Knowledge of traditional waterfall and/or agile project management. Ability to create plans that are then used to implement the required network infrastructure for the business. Ability to track project budgets and process spend requests required to deliver the solution request. Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation. Problem identification, reporting and escalation procedures. Identifies available resources and support systems for troubleshooting. Describes common hardware, software and communication problems; finds ways to resolve issues. Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications. Implements technical documentation standards, guidelines and best practices. Completes and maintains technical reference documents. Coordinates and constantly updates system operations, installations, service manuals, and help documents. Top Candidates will have: Bachelor's degree. Advanced English. Desired Background/Experience: Previous experience in Infrastructure Management in the Manufacturing. Program/Project Management certification. ITIL Foundation certification.
