Job Title: Trends Data Analyst Location: São Paulo, Brazil Trends Data Analyst | São Paulo, Brazil As one of the primary data analysts working for our tech client in Brazil, you will help make data part of the daily news cycle. You will be responsible for curating a daily drumbeat of interesting insights that give journalists a deeper sense of what is capturing people's attention and moving people's curiosity. This is a vendor role with Vaco for a client's team, a Fortune 100 company. This position is currently hybrid until further notice. Working in conjunction with our client Communications, Marketing and Media Partnership teams, you will work with top media partners to create insightful, high-impact trends analyzes that position data as a key signal for what matters now. Responsibilities: Generating ideas for and pulling timely daily insights from client databases. Producing a range of editorial products, from newsletters to curated pages, around global and local news events. Ideating and pulling tailor made data analysis for news partners that tell meaningful stories with data. Fulfilling requests from newsrooms under quick deadlines, as well as client editorial opportunities with local teams. Generating data-led ideas for high-impact editorial projects and pulling, wrangling and curating the data needed to underpin those stories. Creating data visualizations to communicate your insights in a clear, compelling way. Working with designers when needed and guiding these stakeholders through the storytelling possibilities of Search data. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in journalism, statistics or other social sciences. Experience working with News or as a Journalist/Data Journalist. Basic experience in excel and other data packages. Understanding of how spreadsheets work and advanced data techniques. Portuguese/English native like fluency Preferred Qualifications: A strong nose for news and an understanding of what is relevant for editors. Experience in a newsroom environment is a must. An independent thinker, confident in working on your own. A creative mindset when approaching data analysis for news, capable of finding innovative editorial takes, even in widely covered topics. Confident data analyst, proficient in SQL or in a programming language ? (R and Python are nice to have) Solid experience in basic data tools such as Excel/ Google Sheets. Enthusiasm and the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and ability to adapt to a shifting news cycle and to changing priorities. ? Collaborative and able to work across multiple teams and various deadlines.
