We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Cost Manager with a specific focus on electric discipline and works to join our team Involved throughout but more heavily during estimation points and procurement phase. Also involved with change control during execution.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical /Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.5+ years of experience in cost management, with a specific focus on electric discipline and works.Strong knowledge of project cost control principles and techniques.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost planTendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documentsDealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line managerTaking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes placeProducing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the clientNegotiating and agreeing final accountsInterfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesWhere appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all the above accountabilitiesMarketing and business development, to include:Identifying opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and reporting such opportunities to the appropriate line manager and by making effective use of the marketing databaseAssisting in the production of bid documentationIdentifying ways in which cost management procedures, templates and products can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line manager Internal management accountabilities, to include:Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the Turner & Townsend internal databaseDepending upon context, a Cost Manager is likely to report to a Senior Cost Manager, Area Manager or Associate Director.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS - A Cost Manager will in part be assessed by the extent to which: • Commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time • Service delivery on commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment • Good relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team • They work as an effective member of the cost management team, including where appropriate, taking effective responsibility for Assistant Cost Managers • Opportunities are identified to develop new business with existing clients • Margin levels are kept track of on all commissions • Key information and data is effectively cascaded and appropriately retained.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and implement cost control systems for electric projectsAnalyse project budgets and compare actual costs against the budget, identifying variances and taking corrective action as necessary.Prepare estimations according to all design phases.Monitor, control and prepare ValuationsParticipate to value engineering sessionsPrepare and analyse change ordersDevelop the primary project budgetDevelop progress measurement criteria with vendorsSupport quotation process responding to the questions of services/materials proponentsProduce cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposesQuantify materials and labour for all phases of a project.Prepare Cost benefit analysisReview project budget after design packages issuance by the technical teamCollaborate with the creation of the recommendation reportParticipate in the weekly project and departmental meetingsIssue weekly progress reports on project costs including forecasting reimbursable expensesProduce regular reports on project cost performance and present them to senior management and stakeholders.Ability to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and trends related to cost management and electric discipline.Skills: Fluency in English and Portuguese.Experience in utilizing Excel advanced levelAbility to negotiate contracts and manage subcontractors and vendors.Experience working on new build and fit-out projectsExperience working with Data Center its a plusExcellent communication skills and client facingAdditional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
