The Silicon Metal operation in Breu Branco is critical to the global Consumer Solutions business and is a critical piece of Dow's sustainability strategy as an integral part of our Decarbonize and Grow corporate goal.The leader of this critical facility will spearhead a historical cultural transformation that will directly enable the business growth, through strong customer and safety focus and embracing inclusion and diversity as the basis for the healthy operation of the plant. The right candidate possesses a high level of integrity and a strong continuous improvement mindset and, through empowering the leaders and the teams, will achieve business objectives and people development.For the right talent, this can be a platform for successful career growth and development.Responsibilities Ensures success of all operational excellence elements of site operations including providing the strategic leadership necessary for successful long-term operation of site facilities. The site leader represents Dow locally.Delivers continuously improving Environmental, Health & Safety performance. Ensures the plant is meeting the operational requirements of Dow's businesses and continuously improving. This includes product delivery, quality and operating the plant to meet customers' needs.Maintains site compliance with all internal and external regulations.Engages established leveraged site services to achieve plant success. Leveraged services typically include: Maintenance, Turnaround Management, Analytical Technology Implementation for Competitive Advantage, Environmental, Health & Safety operations, Logistics, HR, Business Services, Purchasing and Public Affairs.Provides a sustainable, highly trained operational work force including contractors.Balances short-term priorities with long-term needs of the site and the business on site.Meets the annual expense budget for the plant as set by the function and business, while purposefully ensuring equipment life extension.Develops and maintains relationships with the appropriate business and functional leaders to ensure that the needs of the business are understood and communicated to the site.Maintains Dow's license to operate by developing and maintaining strong relationships with community, state/provincial and federal political and regulatory leaders.Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus engineering, manufacturing or related experience is required.Previous leadership experience is preferred.Advanced in Portuguese language skills.Proficiency in English language skills.8 to 10 years of applicable in industrial experience, preferable in Metallurgical.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities for the role Project and change management experience.Budget management experience.Strong collaboration Teamwork skills.Organizational leadership.Demonstrated successful experience in Environment, Health, and Safety performance.
