Barge Master/Chief Mate - Expatriated

Location - Brasil Overview Plan, organize, direct and control the seamanship department, carry out necessary training and other operations and activities as required by the O.I.M. on board the vessel, in accordance with the Company's Safety and Commercial Objectives. Key Responsibilities * Ensure that you are fully familiar with the Company's Safety Management System, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures and comply with them at all times, including local environmental and HSE legislation. *The XO is considered the second-in-command and in the event that the OIM is absent or incapacitated, he will take command of the rig in place of the OIM. The XO must therefore have the same level of qualification and training as the OIM. *The Chief Mate is responsible for implementing and maintaining the ship's Asset Security Plan. *To assist the IOM in all matters of seamanship/stability, keeping the IOM closely informed of problems with particular regard to the safety of persons and the vessel. *Implement and monitor the company's training requirements for their department as per the Training Matrix. *The XO will ensure that all persons in his/her department are familiar with all operational procedures. *Be responsible for implementing all maintenance of life-saving equipment, fire-fighting equipment and systems, cargo appliances and equipment, bulk systems. The XO is responsible for maintaining all relevant certifications. *Ensuring the readiness of the Helideck's emergency system, fire-fighting systems and deluge systems. *Immediately reporting to the OIM any actual or potential danger encountered or observed during the performance of their duties.
