This is definitely NOT for you. Now... do you wanna make a difference by working on something you will look back and be proud of? Do you want to be a key element in the process of building something great? Do you wanna look back a few years from now and be overblown how much you evolved as a professional and as person? (like "dude... 2 years ago I was such an incompetent / arrogant naive kid who thought I knew so much about everything!!") In that case, READ ON! We are Plaza, a VC-backed Brazilian Proptech / Fintech (currently growing 34% montlhy) that is focused on helping reshape the somewhat old-school real estate market with the use of technology and AI and we are looking for software developers with an entrepreneur mindset to help us in this goal. Keep in mind that you are going to be a part of our FOUNDING TEAM; which means that this is absolutely not the kind of job where you will be just writing software by yourself and getting absorbed by technical shenanigans. Your main job will be to deliver value to the company, and this means you are going to be playing multiple roles; especially by communicating with our company's main stakeholders (founders, clients, other team members) about what solutions are going to be built and even by questioning if we really need to be building those solutions in the first place. In other words: we want you here because we want you to help us BUILD THIS COMPANY; writing software is just a means to that end and we expect you to contribute in many other ways. Speaking of which, we are a 100% on-site company (located in Sao Paulo). We believe that, in order to build something great, you have to make meaningful / strong connections with your co-workers. So... still interested? Now, let's talk about technical stuff. We are currently using Ruby on Rails as our tech stack and the reason why we chose it was because RoR aims at optimizing developer productivity. And that is exactly what we need right now, as we must iterate quickly with our clients to make our product amazing. On top of that we are working heavily on top of OpenAI's API in some pretty novel ways to create chat bots that are capable of delivering an outstanding performance compared to what you see out there. And we mean it when we say "in some pretty novel ways", just as an example we've already managed to create an internal framework that is capable of both scaling token counts and breaking down large prompt instructions into smaller ones, scaling both the development and the performance of our chat bots (and we have so much more in our pipeline to come!). Having said that, we also believe that great developers aren't really tied to a particular language or framework. Great developers understand the difference between tools and fundamentals and, as long as you understand the fundamentals, you are capable of writing code in many different languages and frameworks. Hence, do not refrain from applying if you never worked with Ruby on Rails before! Are you still with me? Even though software is your "thing", you also have a lot of interest in understanding the product itself and participating in its inception. You are a lifelong learner who is always thrilled to take on new and challenging software projects. You believe your job is not only about writing software, but also understanding its purpose. You often propose changes to the project itself in order to make it more viable/cheaper. You are a communicative person that values building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms. Your Skills You are a software developer with at least 5 years of experience You hold a senior/staff/leadership software development position in a tech-driven company You are an "expert generalist" and have a deep general understanding about different software development "disciplines" (front-end, back-end, databases, different programming language paradigms, etc).
