ABOUT SUPPLY The Logistics team operates across the entire Coty business and provides exceptional service to our customer through our DC network and our transport operation team. The team operates on daily bases to deliver a competitive advantage to our partners by setting the strategy and frameworks, as well continues improvement of our operations.
THE ROLE Coty is seeking an exceptional individual to join the logistics team. In this role the person will directly lead the logistics organization in Latin America, including transportation and a set of distribution centers across the region (owned and 3PLs). This is a very operational focused role to manage the business to meet all relevant supply chain KPIs. The Role will report directly to the Americas Logistics VP.
The position covers a broad range of business activities at functional, operational, and strategic level.
To work closely with the DC leaders and the central transportation team to operate the day-to-day business with excellence. Set the strategy, frameworks, guidelines and to provide expertise in DC and transport operations. This includes communication with authorities and internal stakeholders. Responsibility to identify and manage projects that deliver added value to the business in terms of financial, service, safety and sustainability.
Provide operational direction to the operational teams in all matters relating to warehousing services and transportation. Supporting the operational line management in the selection, contractual management and performance of externalized services including 3PL's, outside storage providers, WMS, LMS and other appropriately identified activities.
The individual who fills this role will be expected to contribute to the logistics leadership and develop relationships with the teams on all aspects of the business activities. Key relationships in addition will be the Go-to-market teams in Latam, the planning community, the Center of experience (CoE), the regional and central transportation teams as well as the finance, procurement, manufacturing and IT teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Functional Support the operational teams across Latin America and Brazil implementing best practices and leverage consistency across the region. Work very closely with all DC's and the central & regional transportations teamsWork with the CoE to develop productivity programs and leverage the network capabilities.Build a network across all DC and transportation function to leverage the knowledge and bundle the activitiesOperational Operational accountability on all key metrics such as service, quality, safety, productivity, inventory accuracy and sustainability.Be a close partner to the regional market supply and commercial leads.Maintain high levels of service and manage customer's expectations whilst operating within budgetary conditionsChallenge existing practices to drive both service and cost efficiencies within the supply networkManage and animate the relationship with the 3PL's and 4PL's in partnership with the logistics procurement team.Lead the operational transportation teams for domestic and cross border road transportation in Latam, flows to customers plus intercompany movements.Manage customs for inbound transportation and clearance for DC and factory flows of finished goods and components ensuring customs KPI's (i.e. on time clearance %, duties) are on track and customs program is in compliance with all local authoritiesMaintain high levels of service and manage customer's expectations whilst operating within budgetary conditionsServe as escalation for resolution of domestic transportation, imports, exports, or any customs issuesPeople Development Develop a network of talents across the various locationsCreate and maintain development and succession plans for the logistics communityCreate a vision for his/her scope and establish goals and objectives for the teamBuild collaborative relationships with cross functional teams such as DC/3PL's, customer service, global transportation and sales teamsStrategic Projects Identify opportunities for improvements in supply spending that creates value in terms of financial, service, safety, and sustainability to CotyGive direction and management of projects across the functionMonitor, track and report on the status of projects including the tracking of the committed results i.e. savings, service improvements etc.Supplier Performance Management Lead performance management visibility and improvement plans for suppliers ensuring conformance with best practice and company standards consistently across all sitesImplement supplier relationship programs with key transport haulers including monthly KPI reviews and QBRsBe a point of escalation for supplier performance issues in collaboration with procurementSupplier Selection Co-Lead with logistics procurement formal tendering processes within DC / warehousing and the carrier network bids including supporting activities such as negotiation, strategy setting, and awarding processIdentify appropriate contractors & suppliers for the inclusion in selection processes in partnership with logistics procurementLiaise with partner agencies and logistics procurement teams in the selection of contractorsCost management Partner with finance team on monthly budget review process and annual budget establishmentIdentify cost savings projects, develop, and execute plansIdentify opportunities and implement tracking of key cost drivers such as cost per mile and logistics cost as %GSMonitor, track and report on the status of projects including the tracking of the committed results i.e. savings, service improvements, etc.…Work on freight audit to drive improvements in payment process as needed WHAT YOU'LL BRING Essential: 5-10 years of proven operational leadership in logistics, Supply chain , manufacturingSuccessful Experience of a FMCG environment with commercial understanding of Distribution Center, transport and customs operationsStrong stakeholder management skills with ability to deal with senior leadership to convince and influence effectively, overcoming barriers.Contracts negotiation skills and ability to lead complex negotiations & manage contracts through their life cycle measuring & driving demanding service levelsAchievement of innovative results and proven track record of significant cost savingsExperience of implementing new systems (e.g. Warehouse Management Systems, Labor Management Systems, Warehouse Control Systems), processes (control tower) in a transversal environmentExperience of implementing automation and mechanization programs in a DC or industrial environmentSelf-motivated leader and team playerProficient financial analysis skillsIT literate with advanced excel skills.Ability to coach and develop individuals in difficult situations and develop competenciesWork in different cultural environment (Spanish speaker is a Plus)English is mandatory.·Some travel is needed to connect with teams and service providers.
