Role: GFW Pro Engagement Specialist IProgram/Department: Global Forest (Global office)Location: São Paulo/SPWRI Brazil is seeking a GFW Pro Engagement Specialist I positionbased in Brazil in São Paulo office (hybrid work), reporting to the GFW Pro Latam Engagement Manager for Global Forest Watch Pro.About the Program: WRI's Forest Program works with governments, businesses, and civil society to sustain forests for future generations. We aim to curb deforestation worldwide and help restore and reforest already-cleared land. Recognizing that the agricultural industry is essential for human well-being yet is often associated with tropical deforestation, Global Forest Watch Pro () delivers a software-as-a-service business application and API-based analytics platform for monitoring and identification of deforestation and sustainability risks in the global supply chain for agricultural products. We help companies make more informed and responsible sourcing decisions while complying with voluntary sustainability commitments and regulatory reporting requirements.Job Highlight:In this role, you will develop and execute engagement strategies that drive supply chain actor adoption of GFW Pro in Latin America to monitor agriculture-driven deforestation and conversion, comply with voluntary and regulatory reporting requirements, and act to improve the sustainability of sourcing practices. You will also collaborate with a cross-section of teams to help develop next-level impact opportunities in the region, bridging WRI Global and WRI Brazil forest teams.What you will do: Scaling of GFW Pro (50%)Serveasthefocalpointforengagement and cultivate an extensive network of LATAM agricultural commodity sector actors, spanning from cooperatives to traders, intermediaries, standards bodies, financial institutions, NGOs, and governments.Develop and execute commodity sector strategies at regional and local levels to foster awareness, consideration, and adoption of GFW Pro for monitoring and reporting on deforestation and land-use conversion.Leading GFW Pro presentations, trainings, onboardings, support and feedback collectionBuild stakeholder alignment and develop targeted partnerships to drive impact in line with GFW Pro and Forest Program priorities.Expand and deepen WRI engagement with regional and local sustainability decision makers, thought leaders, and influencers around our Protect, Produce, and Restore pillars.Coordinate and support organization and partnership-specific projects as relevant.Collaboration and coordination with local office (30% time)Work collaboratively with the forest program from WRI Brazil to support development of strategies that align with GFW Pro and local demands.Facilitate processes that connect global initiatives and regional projects to promote more sustainable agricultural supply chains.Operate as a key stakeholder to accelerate processes that have dependencies on different programs.Next Value Creation (20% time)Identify opportunities for combining GFW's suite of monitoringsolutions–GFW,ForestWatcher,MapBuilder, Pasture monitoring, and GFW Pro - and contribute to their implementation as relevantAttend regional technical fora pertaining to the intersection of commodity supply chains and deforestation monitoring, engaging and building networks and/or partnerships with commodity sector stakeholdersIdentify, surface and test ideas with users – such as new analyses,datasetsandfunctionalities-forimprovingGFW Pro. Support focused proof-of-concept projects as relevantDrive revenue growth via promotion of fee-based use of the GFW Pro platformWhat you will need:Minimum of 7 years of work experience at the intersection of agricultural commodities and deforestation issues in Latin America. Prior experience working with and/or for the private sector agribusiness is preferredMaster's degree in agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, environmental management or another relevant field Demonstrated knowledge of agricultural supply chains combined with understanding of sustainability frameworks that promote and accelerate systematic changes towards a more sustainable and just society and economyDemonstrated engagement and partner management skills with the ability to scale-up existing partnerships and form new partnerships.
