**Salary**£13.01 per hour plus enhanced rates for unsociable hours and overtime**Contractual hours**30**Basis**Part time**Package**- A rewarding career - A competitive salary - Excellent training, development, and career progression - 37 days annual leave (pro-rata) - Staff travel pass for yourself, spouse/partner, and dependents.**Date posted**30/04/2024**Job reference**REC000100031**This is position is being offered as a temporary position until November 2024.****Your role**As a member of the Port team, you will have a key role to play in ensuring that we deliver an amazing experience to all our customers, whether they are islanders, visitors from the UK or overseas or commercial customers.You will also have key safety and security duties - assisting with maintenance of the pier, traffic management and all other duties connected with vessel movement, as well as making sure our ports meet our customers' expectations by undertaking various tidy up duties.**Day to Day Working**You will work a varied shift pattern, which includes weekends, bank holidays and evenings.**Key Responsibilities**Ticket Sales, Printing and Distribution:- Process ticket sales accurately and efficiently.- Assist customers in selecting appropriate tickets for our services.- Operate ticketing systems and equipment for printing and distributing tickets.Customer Interaction:- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering assistance.- Communicate ticketing information, policies, and procedures to customers.- Assisting customers with amending/cancelling bookings and arranging accommodation/onward travel when service is disrupted.Outdoor work:- Car marshalling.- Directing traffic embarking and disembarking from vessels.Security and Safety:- Enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures.Any other duties required by the Port Manager.**About you**There are lots of qualities that we look for in our employees, but above all, we need people who are resilient, _supportive, caring, hands on and positive._To excel in your role, you will need:- Able to work flexibly- Able to remain calm under pressure- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to listen carefully and respond appropriately to customer queries- Good problem solving skills- Able to work as part of a team and proactive in offering assistance to colleagues- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions- Full UK driving license essential- Able to commute to Colintraive on a daily basis**Extra Benefits**- You will be provided with full uniform and PPE as well as excellent training, development, and good career progression.- You will also receive unsociable hours payment of 12.5 percent for shifts which start before 08:00 and/or end after 19:00. The basic hourly rate will be paid at single time for every hour up to 40 hours per week, every hour above this will be paid at 1.75 times the basic hourly rate.
