Role reports to: Associate Director R&D Hair & Scalp
Location: Sao Jose dos Campos, SP, Brazil
Travel %: 0 What you will do The Upstream Research Scientist Hair & Scalp under direct supervision, will be responsible for conducting research related to global hair brands, which includes screening new technologies, developing new formulas and executing in-vitro and in-vivo test methods, to support products and claims innovation pipeline.
Key Responsibilities · Design and execute experiments related to product design and formulation
· Conduct research on hair and scalp health to develop innovative products and solutions
· Execute technical project development with hands-on involvement
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments
· Participate in the origination or direction of experiments, through the development of methodologies.
· Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and other documents that record data or results.
· Day-to-day interaction with global Hubs and external development partnerships.
Qualifications What we are looking for Required Qualifications · Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or Pharmacy
· Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with hair or cosmetics formulations and/or haircare performance methodologies
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Fluent written and oral English communication skills
Desired Qualifications · PhD degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or Pharmacy
· Understanding of hair care formulation technology and cosmetic science
· Knowledge of design and substantiation of cosmetic claims.
· Understanding of regulatory requirements for global and regional cosmetic and OTC claims
