PMAN, a prominent player in the food industry since 1996, operates both nationally and internationally. We are specialized in providing integrated solutions for the baking industry. We develop, manufacture and sell traditional and natural preservatives for baking, release agents, encapsulated products, sourdoughs, enzyme blends and pre-mixes for baking. Main Responsibilities: · Supervise the activities of the R&D chemistry and microbiology laboratories · Ensure the team is performing efficiently and accurately testing processes under one's guidance. · Manage and deploy Strategic Planning cycles for R&D function, fulfilling Stakeholders expectations. · Coach teams to conduct sensory evaluations of new products. Applies Analytical Expertise to perform and interpret measurements on samples and provide actionable insights. · Manage the Research and Development team, considering the following pillars: Strategy (Ensure guidelines of the annual Strategic Plan), Market Research (bring the company closer to its technological future with a focus on national and international trends), Product Launch (conducting everything from scientific research, development of new formulations, feasibility analyzes to the implementation phase of production processes.) and attention to customer demands) and Processes (efficiency in the execution of the R&D scope) · Ensure the team ability to handle technology transfer from our partners from Germany and USA and guarantee the security of our collection of microbiological cultures and microbiological controls. · Supervise team to prepare technical documents, including material specifications, technical data sheets, and control plans. · Manage and address regulatory compliance (e.g., MSDS). · Visit target customers, according to Strategic Plan Guidelines to address troubleshoot and specific needs. · Maintain controls for the R&D group and production plant. · Provide national and international training, seminars, and webinars and or make sure the team is prepared to deliver them according to area of expertise. · Show up as a trustful source of technical information, providing guidance on tests with customers together with the applications team. · Provide working conditions to the team to have Documentation and Compliance Oversight: · Supervise organization and participate in national and international training sessions and fairs. · Provide support to partners in Chile, Germany, and the United States. · Participate in national and international bids, leveraging technical expertise. · Understand sector trends and search for Innovative solutions & products and our clients. · Keep all team members aligned with demands, timelines and expectations to production and engineering team. · Manage the team to inspect authoritative publications to discern understudied topics. · Develop partnership with market players and universities. · Develop encapsulated products for the food, bakery, animal feed and pharmaceutical industries Strategic Insights and Decision-Making: · Review and control technical materials, sales forecasts, and market research. · Manage and provide insights to the R&D committee. · Align demands, timelines and expectations to production and engineering teams. · Foster cross-functional cooperation. · Solve conflicts and manage priorities within stakeholders. Special Requirements: Availability: · Ensure monitoring of our collection of microbiological cultures 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, implement a contingency plan and participate in a work shift system. · Be prepared for frequent travel within and outside Brazil.
