Boeing Brazil is seeking a Mid-Career Structural Design Engineer reporting to the Structures Manager, working in the São José dos Campos office. 

The Mid-Career Structural Design Engineer will join Boeing Structures team and will develop and modify primary and secondary structures for Boeing X66 Program in collaboration with NASA. 
Position Responsibilities: • Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. 
• Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. 
• Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. 
• Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. 
• Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
• Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
• Works under general direction.
• Occasional travel may be required in support of the program and customer.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Relevant Experience with aerospace structures design.
• Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, with degrees in Aeronautical, Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• Relevant Experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX).
• Must be legally able to work in Brazil.
• Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA). Applicable to Brazilian, recent engineering graduates within 6 months and foreign engineers when the employer is willing visa sponsor
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience): • Experience validating or verifying structural models.
• Relevant experience with structural design principles for aircraft.
• Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment.
• Experience with analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with design and analysis of metallic and/or composite materials.
• Experience providing product definitions and technical support to groups, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Positive & proactive mindset, highly motivated team member willing to manage multiple assignments and work with a sense of urgency.
• Proactive collaboration with customer, build positive relationships.
• Effective communication with other team members and management.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
