You willplay a vital part in technical operations and report to the Staff Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer. You will consistently monitor, control, and troubleshoot all engine machinery equipment while being on watch in accordance with our policies, procedures, and safe working practices, promotinga strong safety culture andadhering to all environmental policies and procedures at all times.Your duties include:
Ensuring compliance with Engine Room Resource Management standardsEnsuring compliance with Environmental/Health and Safety Policies and procedures, MARPOL and SOLAS PoliciesEnsuring compliance with all relevant flag states and classes as well as other applicable regulationsCarry out the Engine watch with particular attention to:Main Engines functions and operationAuxiliary Engines functions and operation (where applicable)Power generation function and operationsOperation of all M/E and A/E ancillary equipment (where applicable)Conditions of bilges and bilges tanksPiping integrityFulfilling and carrying out Environmental Compliance PlanResponsible for maintenance and carrying out repairs (but not limited to):Conditions of bilges and bilges tanksChemical analysis and treatment of boiler water, cooling water, A/C pre-heating, and re-heating waterLifeboat, tender boats, rescue boats, and file rafts winchesPurification systemLubrication systemHydraulic systemElectric propulsion motors (where applicable)Boiler and Steam PlantHFO, MDO, LO purifiers maintenance, and consumption analysis calculationsBunkering and manning of HFO, MDO, LO operationsHFO, Diesel, Oil and Sludge Transfer Pumps and related systemsStabilizers, Thrusters, andAZIPODsystemsSteering gear and related systemPitchpropellercontrols and Propeller shafts(where applicable)Piping integrityEconomizer and ancillary equipmentSooth blowing / Infrasonic systemProvide continuous supervision to systems in temporary operationEnsure safety measures are implemented and functionalParticipate in drills and trainingResponsible for all watch monitoring data (sounding, counter, mass flow, grey and black water transfer log, etc.) recorded and filed as per SMSEnsure that all machinery assigned are in working order and in compliance with carrying out Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures ensure maintenance is carried out at due intervals in accordance with planned maintenance and service requirements, and all related logs and records are updatedCompile Monthly Condition Report and update equipment technical cards of machinery assigned to him and his watch subordinateReport any abnormal condition of the machinery assignedKeeping up good communication and transparency between TMs within the Engine departmentAny additional assignment at the discretion of Staff Chief Engineer or Chief EngineerMinimum Requirements To apply for this role, you must hold an IMO Certificate, Regulation III/2, 2nd Engineer.3+ years of experience working as a watchkeeper.Valid STCW certificates, as required for the position.Preferred Experience Experience working within a cruise ship environment is a plus.2nd Engineer experience or higher is a plus.
